心房細動患者への抗凝固薬は、脳梗塞リスクの低下にはなるが大出血（major bleeding）のリスクを高める可能性がある。

抗凝固薬使用者の「致命的」な大出血頻度は年間0.6％という報告もある。

大出血イベント後の患者の臨床転帰についてはほとんど知られていないので、くわしくしらべてみたそうな。
